Brian Hollingsworth Therapist in Raleigh NC

BRIAN HOLLINGSWORTH
MS, MDIV, NCC, LCMHC

Growing up, I wanted to be many things: an artist, an actor, a spiritual leader, a therapist. You could say I finally arrived at the last (and current) one by way of the others, but the truth is, the common qualities inherent in each of these pursuits have carried me throughout my life: creativity, curiosity, compassion, and a desire to know others and the world for all its beauty, complexity, goodness, and wonder. These qualities are the foundation of my approach to therapy, and continue to guide my life and work.

MY BACKGROUND

Having been a client myself for 14 years, I know first-hand the value of a safe, supportive, and affirming space to ask questions, sit with the messiness of life, and figure things out. In fact, it was my decision to seek therapy that helped me begin to put together the seemingly fragmented pieces of my life, and find a path forward marked by authenticity and a sense of wholeness.

In my professional life, I've been a summer camp director, a full-time student, a crisis support facilitator for college students, a hospital chaplain, a psychiatric group facilitator, and finally a therapist. Prior to joining the staff of TPC in 2026, I worked in my own private practice, PathLight Counseling Services. The journey wasn't always linear, but each step was guided by the same thing: a passion to know myself and the world more fully by creating safe and supportive spaces for others to be seen and heard.
