WELCOME!

Hi, I'm Brian, and I'm a therapist in Raleigh, NC.

I became a therapist because I believe that the practice of listening carefully to ourselves and to others can change our lives, our relationships, and our world.

My approach to therapy is relaxed, collaborative, and conversational. I emphasize building a strong, safe, & trusting therapeutic relationship by listening carefully, modeling authenticity, and engaging with you in reflection and insight into your needs, questions, and concerns.

Whatever brings you to counseling, I honor the huge step it is to seek help, and look forward to joining you on your journey toward healing and wholeness!

AREAS OF FOCUS

LGBTQ+

Many of my clients identify as LGBTQ+, and are seeking a safe and supportive space to explore the intersection of their sexual and/or gender identity with the rest of their lives. I am passionate about helping queer individuals navigate their unique challenges, needs, and opportunities, whether it is a reason you are seeking therapy, or just something you need acknowledged and affirmed.

Stress & Anxiety

Whether it's work, relationships, family responsibilities, or just the general messiness and confusion of being alive, we all  carry around some level of stress, anxiety, or both. I can help you listen to what you're feeling, tap into your inner resources, and develop skills, practices, and ways of thinking that will help you manage these burdens.

Spiritual Concerns

Whether spirituality and/or religion has been a source of healing, harm, or indifference to you, I have unique training and experience in helping clients navigate the complexities, confusion, changes, and even conflicts that can arise when we search for answers and meaning beyond ourselves. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals explore the intersection of their spiritual and sexual identities.

Helpers

Helpers need help, too. Many of my clients work in a helping profession - healthcare workers, educators, spiritual leaders, and fellow therapists. If you are experiencing burnout, burden, stress, or challenge related to helping and caring for others in your work, I am here for you. I will help you learn how to fill your own cup, so that you can continue to pour into others.
